Illuminating Kyiv's Historic Heart with Modern Elegance (Engineering, Custom Design, Manufacturing, and Installation)

The Objective.

Bessarabka Market is an iconic historical landmark and a bustling culinary hub located in the very heart of Kyiv. For a project with such profound architectural heritage, standard lighting was not an option. Our team developed a custom illumination strategy that gracefully highlights the early 20th-century modernist facade while providing a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere for the modern food courts and fresh produce vendors inside.

Our Full-Cycle Process for Bessarabka Market:

  • Heritage Integration: We collaborated closely with architects and heritage preservation experts to seamlessly integrate lighting fixtures into the historic structure without altering its original beauty.

  • Atmospheric Design: We created dynamic lighting "moods" to separate the vibrant, bustling aisles of the traditional market from the cozy, modern dining areas of the food court.

  • Technical Precision: We conducted a full DIALux heat map analysis to ensure optimal visibility for vendors to showcase their fresh produce, while highlighting the stunning glass roof and intricate interior arches.

  • Smart Control Systems: All lighting is managed via a centralized system, allowing the space to transition smoothly from bright, functional morning market lighting to an inviting, warm glow for evening food court visitors.
